Vernal Equinox

Kicked off the spring season planting with our adopted school, Murch Elementary in Northwest DC. We have the most wonderfully supportive community within the school. The Parents, kids, teachers and administrators are all very thrilled about the project. We planted an array of spring crops. The kids loved digging in the dirt. The next cooking class with the kids will focus on the crops they planted: peas, beets and lettuces.

Welcome to Equinox Restaurant in Washington, DC. A ten year old restaurant which is undergoing a major renovation:

Equinox enters 2010 with a renovation that opens up the main dining room and bar area, offering dynamic vistas through the restaurant. New finishes and lighting create a warmer main dining area while the dining room wall becomes a large feature element, highlighted through a textured stone installation. The intimate private dining room experience is enhanced through a new patterned glass enclosure and a wood encased wine display displaying over 500 bottles. The bar area goes through a much needed transformation with new granite counters, a glass back bar and translucent shelving. Most importantly, Todd Gray’s kitchen is updated and rethought with new equipment, better lighting and more efficient prep surfaces. The overall renovation should provide a welcome environment and give Equinox a fresh face for the new decade.
Reservations are being accepted for dining after April 12th.
